I was thinking that the entire team, including myself needs to get some 203's or explosive type weapons.. and just use those in some practice matches. The teams that win, are the ones that control domination/hq points using explosives.

That said as I do not use 203's AT ALL, I use semtex.

I was shocked that in regular mode there is a crosshair for grenades in normal play. How cheap is that...? :D

Good times last night guys. Its very cool having 8-10+ guys on.

The best part about using thumpers is it makes the other team cry.

Thumpers dont make me cry. Knives do. If a 40mm shell goes off 5 feet from me I expect death or incapacitation. If I am actively shooting a man who is charging me at 15 feet and I fall to his knife instantly after putting 3 or 4 rounds in his chest...that is a travesty and I shall announce it at such every time it occurs!

TKC does speak the truth...if more of us starting using Thumpers and 203's we would be more competative. I guess its time to start dusting mine off and trying it out.

I was referring to "JT" when we played Favela and is crying about us "TOOBING" (we were also using thumpers). I honestly don't notice other teams using Thumpers that much, but it really does make a difference. They are easy to use, and perfect on HQ and domination maps. A grenade on the point clears the room from a distance. And they are easy to aim, even you Brach can handle them!

Ive been playing more with the Thumper as a secondary weapon and I'm getting OK with it. Just takes a bit of practice and you can become at least marginal like I am with it.

Ive experimented a bit with the 203 but like using a Silencer and Red Dot instead so dont use 203 attachment much.

I wouldnt go so far as to say the Thumper can win matches because a blow out is a blow out. The Thumper wont change that. But what I can say, after using it for a few weeks now, is that it certainly brings an advantage to close games. Preventing a cap or preventing the rival team from destroying your headquarters by just a few seconds can really turn a close loss into a close win.

Many times now Ive spammed the Thumper into the Control point while it was about to be capped or was destroying my cap with pretty good results. Unless you are going sniper (so need a real weapon for close in fighting) I think the Thumper is the way to go in most HQ type games.

I just wish the thumper had more then 2 shots, I can clear the point off twice and then I have to run in there to die to delay it even more.

Heh, thats the advantage of being a sub par player like myself. If I can clear the point twice with my 2 shots than I consider that a success :)

I guess my standards just arent as high as yours!

Thumper with scavenger should give you more than 2 shots assuming you last long enough. :P

I have to get this off my chest.

The ingame 203 is downright offensive to the real version. I understand that games need to be fun and not overly realistic. But there is a thin line between fun and ridiculous. There have been too many times where I have hit right next to a player with the launcher and they have turned right around and killed me. Even worse I often find myself being killed by a 203 that hits 10m to 15m away from me.

Maybe my experience with the real version has ruined any fun I might have had with the game version. Im not sure. All this aside however, it is definitely a game changer in the right hands.

Are you playing hardcore? Occasionally weird level geometry will shield someone from a blast, but most of the time it clears the room.

Probably 99% of the time I play Hardcore so dont have that problem. Im assuming the situations you are talking about are NOT from Hardcore matches? I say that because in Hardcore if a 203 round (or Thumper round) goes off anywhere next to you you are dead. Outside of weird situations (like what Rash pointed out) its pretty predictable that you kill people with 40mm rounds.

Knives are what tick me off the most. In Hardcore they arent that big a deal but in non Hardcore they can be real annoying. Nobody should be able to kill you with a knive while you are actively shooting them (IMHO).

Overall, Knives are way overpowered imo (but in Hardcore its not really a problem). Its the pistols that I think need some serious tweaking. They are way too accurate at range. You could stick the damn thing in a vise and you couldnt replicate what people can consistanty do with them in game. Heh, I always shake my head when I start trading shots with a guy at 200 yards who has a pistol to my assault rifle and I am the one who drops first.
